The Council is currently inviting tenders for the re-provision of the car park pay by phone service following a very successful 4 year initial contract. The potential full term of contract will be four for an initial two years with the option to extend for a further 2 periods of twelve months.
This project relates to as many of Cornwall Council's 134 revenue generating pay and display car parks as possible. Additionally the system will need to offer a permit free staff parking scheme allowing travelling officers the benefit of free parking to whilst going about their daily work. The Council employs circa 5 000 staff and it is likely that approximately 7 % of these employees will be registered onto the system.
It is essential that the winning Tenderer can deliver the fully project managed implementation of a system that permits individuals to arrive at any of the pay and display car parks set out above and pay for their parking using their mobile phone (subject to mobile phone signal strength)
